Literary Heritage - West Midlands

Part of the book collection.   Selection of books in the Literary Heritage - West Midlands Collection, Shrewsbury Library.

Explore:   "Literary Heritage - West Midlands" provides access to works from West Midlands literary past. The website features writers from earlier centuries to the present day, and was inspired by the West Midlands Creative Literature Collection, established in 1974. Many of the digitised texts now on offer to a worldwide audience were taken from the rare, reference-only print copies within this collection.

Content:   "Literary Heritage - West Midlands" features writers from the West Midlands, from earlier centuries to the present day. Author profiles, introductions to books, reviews, sample chapters and full e-texts are available. The range of e-texts includes novels, poetry, plays, letters and short-stories and includes writers such as Arnold Bennett, Mary Webb, Walter Savage Landor, William Shenstone, and William Wycherley.
