Exploring the Potteries

The Spode Factory. Spode are one of the oldest ceramic firms in Stoke-on-Trent and still produce pottery on their original site.

Explore:   The "Exploring the Potteries" project provides a fascinating insight into the natural history and cultural heritage of the Potteries area using material selected from The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery's collections. Use the site to explore local buildings or to investigate our native wildlife.

Content:   Photographs of buildings and community life in the Stoke-on-Trent area, environmental and wildlife information and learning packages on the natural history and local history of the Potteries. Learning packages currently available: Identifying garden birds, Identifying rocks, minerals and fossils, Listed Buildings, War memorials, Industrial sites in the Potteries and Stoke-on-Trent's natural heritage strategy.
